Although all of you out there are friends I have never met it has been nice to know that people from all over the world, in all walks of life have sent messages of support via blog, email, facebook, linkedin, text and almost every other media to me and my family after the fire last month. It has meant a lot to us and we would like to thank you all dearly.

It’s now boxing day and I’m sat here in my dressing gown looking around and it appears like the brother-in-laws house has been ransacked, as the alcohol was flowing freely I’m guessing there was a good day had by all

This is the only time of year I participate in drinking alcohol as we have Xmas followed by my Birthday(the 29th)and then New Year so it would be rude of me to not to join in the celebrations  (so I am told)

I am looking forward to the challenges ahead in 2012 hoping that they are a little kinder to us but whatever happens I will be facing them head on. To be honest tho’ I have a positive feeling about the year ahead as the last couple of months have brought the family closer together and a new feeling of determination has arisen from the ashes so to speak.

All that’s left to say really is that I hope you all achieve what you wish for and that 2012 is especially good to you.

Well Christmas has truly started.. It’s been snowing today and my bank balance is disappearing faster than the daylight hours 

We have settled into my brother-in-laws home very well although peace and quiet seems to be eluding me, I’m told it’s like being on holiday but without the sun but I tend to disagree as I still have to go work!
It is difficult to concentrate on my ongoing tasks when all the usual Christmas tunes like Slade, Wham & Mariah Carey are belting out full blast lol (although it is helping Lynne in coming to terms with the events of last month)

So in true spirit I would like to wish each and every one of you a very, very happy Christmas and a successful, prosperous 2012 in everything you do.

Be good, be kind, be honest and above all take care of all those around you.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS – Enjoy 2012

Well, here we are 0900 am on a Tuesday morning sat in what once was the dining room. We are all currently living with relatives not too far away so it’s easy for me to come back here and get a little peace & quiet lol.

I have a little garden table with chair, a kettle, radio, 2 Industrial dryers and a portable gas fire for company in this burnt out shell we once called home. Emotions have calmed a little but now the long process of repairing the devastating damage caused by the fault on the tumble dryer starts.

Firstly Lynne, my gorgeous wife who was in the kitchen when the fire started, she is slowly coming to terms with everything but cannot bring herself to return home until it is all nearing completion. She is trying to act as normal as possible (badly) but I’m sure she will come through it ok as she is made of the ‘strong stuff’. I have given her the task of searching  the internet for kitchens, furniture & colour schemes… now Lynne and Laura (my daughter) are in their element..Shopping!

The insurance company have been excellent in every way, offering all kinds of help I didn’t even know existed so 10/10 to them.

So far we have had the structural engineer in to take notes on the extent of damage and what is needed to put it back in order.
2 cleaners (John & Jan) from Chemdry came in and removed as much of the effects of smoke damage as possible then sealed in the remaining to help with the mess and smell. They then proceeded to create an inventory all damaged property before removing it for disposal.  In grand total all we were left with was a bottle of washing up liquid lol, they did however leave me with a melted (but working) radio.

The laminate floors and carpets were next to go before bringing in 2 large humidifiers/dryers to dispel the 400 gallon of water required to put the fire out, this should take approx 2 weeks as most of the water soaked into the concrete floors.
John & Jan had really made this an almost effortless event as they were sympathetic, funny, helpful but most of all very professional to which they have my sincere thanks.

I’m now waiting to hear from the builders for a starting date which am hoping will be very soon. I will keep you all posted on how things go over the next few weeks.

I’ve included a few photos of the damage, not to glorify the situation but to show how the most unexpected circumstances can create life changing events. Earlier today we had a fire at home and the whole ground floor of the house was destroyed, thanks to the quick action of the fire brigade they were able to save the upstairs from any damage (apart from smoke damage of course)

My wife Lynne was in the house at the time but managed to get out before the fire took hold and is fine except for being traumatized by the event. I’ve packed her off to her brothers for a couple of days while the clean up begins.

The fire apparently started from a fault which had occurred within the tumble dryer and had set alight without warning causing the total destruction of the kitchen, dining room & lounge, we have no water, gas or electric (or ceilings!)The smoke damage has destroyed as much as the fire itself.

As you can imagine it is going to take a while to get put straight and we all know what insurance companies can be like, so please bear with me if I do not update my site for the next few days.. Normal service will be resume asap.

Even though I am still in shock, in an odd way I still feel lucky… my family are all ok and all but for the grace of God, it could have been a whole lot worse had it happened on an evening or had we been in bed.

In true British tradition I have my cup of tea in hand preparing myself for a very long day ahead & knowing my gorgeous wife and daughter are safe and well means we can conquer this bad experience together.

Hi all, It’s been months since my last post, not very professional is it !

I’ve not been slacking tho’ .. Over the last 6 months I’ve had quite a few ups and downs happen within the family life but I’m not going to moan on about how hard things can get, I will however mention the positive things that have/are happening.

1. I have been requested to build 3 websites for a local company and am in the final stages of completion

2. I am creating a graphics package for a client which I may carry on with and release as a WSO . Since I started using Photoshop properly I am amazed on how simple making great graphics can be. I’ve owned PS for nearly 2 years but only recently started using it correctly.

3. I am in the process of creating a website totally devoted to brand new internet marketers (newbies) – This will be a complete online A~Z resource centre for people just taking their first steps and then moving up to the more intermediate levels.
It will take up a lot of  my bandwidth but the site will be completely free to all to join. I hope to get my costs reimbursed via affiliate sales and possibly optional donations.  I’ll keep you posted on this venture

4. And finally!!!…A couple of months ago I  finally reopened my Resale Rights For You site, It has had a great start with over 70 new members joining, in case you have never heard of it before i’ll just give you a quick insight…
